uniqlo-heattech-review

For your upcoming ski or winter vacation, should you stock up on Uniqlo HEATTECH? This Uniqlo HEATTECH review will help you find out whether you should buy it for winter outfits.

It’s been years since the Uniqlo HEATTECH line first appeared. They’re inexpensive, useful, and sveltely light. Furthermore, they come in a variety of hues, shapes, and fashions. But just how warm are they? Does Uniqlo HEATTECH work?

Learn more in the thorough Uniqlo HEATTECH review below, where we compare the various subcategories of the HEATTECH line, their uses, and more.

What is Uniqlo HEATTECH?

Uniqlo’s line of lightweight, cozy innerwear and clothing, known as Uniqlo HEATTECH, was created in partnership with Toray and is made of material that both generates heat and absorbs moisture from the body.

The anti-bacterial material has insulating properties to keep warm air between the fabric and your skin from escaping, keeping you warm in the process. There are various degrees of warmth for Uniqlo HEATTECH as well.

Uniqlo Heattech Review

Uniqlo HEATTECH are slim and made to be snug fitting. They do not, however, impede movement at the same time.

Depending on the warmth rating you select, you might not need to wear as many layers of clothing to stay warm.

Static is a problem with wool, acrylic wool, and other similar materials made of synthetic blends. Thankfully, this problem is not present with Uniqlo HEATTECH clothing.

Polyester, polyurethane, acrylic, and rayon are actually a blend of 4 different materials that make up the garments. With the exception of rayon, most materials are synthetic.

Uniqlo HEATTECH Apparel

2003 saw the initial launch of the Uniqlo HEATTECH line. And since then, sales from this line have reached over 100 million worldwide—in seven different nations, to be precise.

The line also includes children and infants.

For adults, the HEATTECH range encompasses different apparel categories like:

  • Socks
  • Gloves
  • Undershirts
  • Turtlenecks
  • Leggings
  • Beanies
  • Jeans
  • Long Johns

When wearing a cute sweater, you don’t always want the undershirt to be visible, so undershirts for women come in a variety of cuts to fit different necklines.

Uniqlo HEATTECH Properties

All of the Uniqlo HEATTECH wear features the following qualities:

  • Absorbs heat
  • Retains heat
  • Machine-washable
  • Anti-odor
  • Anti-static
  • Comfortably soft
  • Don’t restrict movement
  • Dries quickly

With some restrictions, of course, we can honestly say that all of the aforementioned is true. They are warm, lightweight, comfortable, and don’t produce/ attract static.

They can be dried and washed together in a washing machine. Alternately, you could hang them up to dry, which is possible but not particularly quick.

Additionally, other users have reported that if you don’t wash them after a few days, they can begin to smell bad, though we haven’t personally experienced this.

Uniqlo HEATTECH Temperature Guide

Since the average winter temperature varies greatly among nations, not all winter clothing is equal (and it shouldn’t be).

I love how Uniqlo‘s HEATTECH range has various levels of warmth to cater to different intensities of cold:

1. Uniqlo HEATTECH Normal

Uniqlo Heattech Review

These clothes simply have Uniqlo HEATTECH written on them in the store.

This is the original Uniqlo HEATTECH and the thinnest of the 3 heat retention levels. Unsurprisingly, because Uniqlo HEATTECH was the first to market, it has the broadest selection of distinct (though fundamental) colors and styles.

And because it is thin, apparel with this label are exceptionally easy to layer underneath winterwear. In addition, they are lightweight enough for spring and autumn.

2. Uniqlo HEATTECH Extra Warm

Uniqlo HEATTECH Extra Warm

Uniqlo HEATTECH Extra Warm is 1.5 times warmer than the basic Uniqlo HEATTECH, as a result of a plush interior (100 percent cotton as of 2021) and increased thickness.

Compared to the Uniqlo HEATTECH original, they are noticeably bulkier.

In peak winter, they still make a great base for layering under your clothing because they are simple to layer and still tuck underpants.

3. Uniqlo HEATTECH Ultra Warm

It gets a lot better with Uniqlo HEATTECH Ultra Warm. Apparel items with this label are up to 2.25 times warmer than the original Uniqlo HEATTECH.

Although they are more bulky than the other two Uniqlo HEATTECH sub-lines, they have a better capacity to retain heat.

These are fantastic for chilly winters where it’s below zero degrees while still allowing you to keep some of your figure under all those bulky layers!

Final Thoughts on Uniqlo Heattech Review

If you’ve been struggling to find layers that are warm and bulk-free, Uniqlo’s HEATTECH styles are a great solution.

Everything is reasonably priced and comes in a variety of styles.
